Optum refuses to pay their share of prescriptions, that they were contracted to pay. I have contacted them many times and get a different song and dance every time I speak to someone. Usual reactions are: we're working on it, there are no corr ordination of benefits. The info has to be entered manually and the list goes on and on. The Optum subrogation department investigates any claims relating to accidents, to see if it is up to them to pay, or if a third party should be responsible for paying the claim. They do this before the claim is processed by UHC, so UHC doesn't even see that there is a claim in process until after Optum does their investigation. I filed complaints with Federal Reserve and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I filed with them and BBB. I finally got my refund 4 months later. Having to deal with Optum was the worst! They should not be allowed to be in business.
